Cabo Mondego Section of Portuguese Surrealism
A performance in the Gulpilharinhos forest
On 13 July 2025, the Cabo Mondego Section of Portuguese Surrealism convened for a collective performance in a woodland setting within the Gulpilharinhos district of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. Over the course of a single afternoon, thirteen mixed-media works on watercolour paper were realised through collaborative practice. The participating artists emerged from diverse continents, spanning generations from their twenties to their eighties: Miguel de Carvalho, Manuela Marques, Gilles van Arkel, Vita Thiesbrummel, Rik Lina, Jan Giliam, David Coulter, Bruno BarnabĂ© and Isidro MartĂns.
